Kyleen King - Violin, Viola, Guitar
She studied music education for 2 years at Missouri State University where she received training in music theory, sight-singing, ear-training, woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion. She performed with the MSU Symphonic Orchestra, Pride Marching Band, and continued her study of the violin under Dr. David Hays. She then moved to Nashville, TN to study audio engineering at SAE Institute. After receiving a Diploma in Audio Technology, she moved to Olympia, WA, where she assisted in Orchestra classes at Nisqually Middle School and taught private violin, viola, and guitar lessons. Kyleen currently resides in the Woodstock neighborhood of Portland where she operates a home recording studio and performs with string ensembles and independent bands and artists. |
Kyleen King has been an active musician since the age of 3 when she began private study on the violin. Over the past 15 years she has performed in groups ranging from string quartets to rock bands and has recorded in a variety of formats. She is formally trained on violin, guitar, percussion, and piano; self taught on viola, electric bass, and clarinet. Kyleen also has years of experience composing, arranging, and recording music of all kinds.
